She Gave Me This

Somewhere in there she told me things
And taught me things
Which gave me unwavering self-confidence
She told me I had a look
Which challenged anyone to cross me
She said nothing fazed me
That I used my stare to keep people at a distance
And when I think back
At times I was in danger or conflict
I would change inside
I had a resolve
An overwhelming self-preservation
Which seemed to tell anyone
They would not fare well
If they messed with me
She tells me
I had a dangerous spark
That should disarm
Any sane person.
